Vermont is a very nice place to see since it’s close to our nation’s capital. See what other people have found to do while they were there.

Things to do When Visiting Vermont

Vermont is very historical as it is next to Washington D.C. Here you will find plenty to do to honor this nation. History will come alive. If you are looking for a few suggestions, we have some things that you might like to try that might be a bit out of the ordinary. So, keep reading and start taking notes to plot that map for your next trip to Vermont.

Brookefield, Vermont has a nice bridge, but we suggest that you have a vehicle that is ready for the trip. Why is this? They don’t’ call it the floating bridge for nothing. Many have tried to cross it. Some have tried crossing it while riding a Harley. Just be careful. During the winter they close it off, but during the summer, they open it right back up for all the travelers to enjoy.

While everyone knows of all the history that is in Vermont we chose some of those fun sites that many just sort of drive past. This is why we chose one that was in Burlington, Vermont. Here you will find the world’s tallest filing cabinet. Now, that is a filing cabinet!

Are you a fan of Ben and Jerry? Then you will love this site. Come on over to Burlington, Vermont and you can see the site that Ben and Jerry ice cream first began. While you can’t see the building many people love to stop and take a picture of, there is the plaque that stands in memory of where it all began. Who would have thought that what was once a store that sold that ice cream and was demolished in 1978, would still remain a tourist attraction for ice cream lovers all over?

The statue in front of the library in Barre, Vermont leaves everyone in awe. It is normally known as the whispering statue due to its location however it was supposed to mean something more. This statue stood for the youth of Vermont and Barre that have become triumphant and have succeeded in life. It’s a great site to see. It was built in the 1920’s during the war days. What a nice statue.

So here are a few things that besides your normal history, you should give it a try. Most people wouldn’t think to stop at these places. We didn’t want you to miss out. If you are looking for things to do there is still more to do. Enjoy what they have to offer and don’t miss any chances. That’s the best thing that tourists can tell you. So, there you have it. A starter guide of what to see in Vermont. You will not be disappointed at all there is to do. We can assure you of that.
