The Fastest Growing City in the USA

Visit and move to Murfreesboro, Tennessee

A recession does not keep everybody down. If you take a look around the United States, you can be sure to find towns that are booming, and growing in population and structure. Recession is definitely a part of change when people make decisions to move. But where should one move to? There is a fairly good size town called Murfreesboro in the lovely state of Tennessee. Need to move? Check out this town for a wonderful place to move.

Murfreesboro, Tennessee had a population of 171,753 according to Wikipedia, during April 2009. That is up from 81,393 residents in 2005. The population increase is seeing an almost 50% increase and the town is still booming.

The town is undergoing a major renovation, ranging from a brand new hospital and medical park, additions to the current mall already standing, new restaurants, and a whole new outdoor shopping mall. The outdoor shopping mall is called The Avenue, located off the newly designed roadway, Medical Center Parkway, just off I-24. In addition to buildings, Murfreesboro is trying to stay consistent with it’s population growth by adding more streets and upgrading the interstate areas that run through the town. When I was child growing up here, there was only one interstate exit. Then, eventually there became two. That was many years ago. Now, there are a total of 4 interstate exits bringing you directly into Murfreesboro. Each exit enters into a different section of Murfreesboro, but access to the entire town can be found by driving within the city or taking shortcuts through neighborhoods.

Although this giant boom in population caused major upgrading, and the space for traffic has expanded, there still seems to be a large crowd on the roads. Especially during the middle of the day when people start to get out and about. If you would rather avoid traffic, it is best to stay home, or go out early in the morning or later in the evening. These are the best times to get around the town in a timely manner.

A few attractions that bring people to Murfreesboro, Tennessee is that this town is an old Civil War era town. The Stones River National Battlefield is very popular. Every year there is a festival off the main strip in town, Broad Street, that mocks the Civil War era. Log homes, cooking, hand crafts, and people dressed in civil war uniforms walk the area event, giving it the appealing dramatic scene of being in those ages. This is an event for all ages to discover and a chance to learn more about the town.

One of the reasons why the town stays booming is Middle Tennessee State University. This college stays packed out. The students have to park really far to get a parking spot. There have been new parking lots added and buses pick up at these lots to help students get to their classes faster. There has also been an entire new Greek Row built for those involved in fraternities and sororities. The town has also built a new Walmart Supercenter directly across from the backside of the college. This store usually attracts college students, but is very convenient for them as well to gather school supplies. Along with the Walmart Supercenter is an entire shopping center. Students can get their hair cut, catch a meal, get a car wash, shop for groceries, and even go for a workout, all in one place. Living a college life does not have to be so withdrawn.

If you want a new place to live and have not placed yourself yet, then be sure to look up Murfreesboro, Tenneessee. This is one of the greatest, close to home towns in the United States. From a once average town, it has now become an upper class city, waiting for your move. Come see for yourself.
